Vasculaze Vascular Lesion Resolution
What is Vasculaze?
Vasculaze laser treatments can treat a wide variety of facial, arm, and leg vein issues. Vasculaze has a specially designed ergonomic head that is built to maximize our ability to see and pinpoint the vein or vein network, making treatments accurate, extremely safe, and effective. The technology sends pulses of light onto the vein, causing the vein to slowly fade and disappear, preventing the need for unpleasant incisions and needles.
How common are vascular lesions?
Vascular lesions are present in 10-15% of adults, with a greater number in females than males. They can be prevalent in a contained body area, spread out over multiple body areas, or show up as a singular line or cluster. Vasculaze can be used to not only help treat existing lesions but prevent them from getting worse.
What types of vascular issues can be treated?
Your aesthetic provider will need to do an assessment of your vascular lesions. In general, the recommended types of vascular veins to treat are:
- Facial and spider veins
- Port wine stains
- Leg veins
- Telangiectasias
- Angiomas
The most common areas being face, décolleté, arms, upper thighs, back of thighs, and the lower legs. Varicose veins are typically larger and are not suitable for Vasculaze.
Is Vasculaze for me?
Vasculaze is recommended for individuals who are looking for a non-invasive skin treatment to address vascular lesions. Vasculaze is safe for all skin types. It is a quick, in-office procedure, and can be combined with other therapies to address a combination of skin issues such as pigmentation, rosacea, and textural concerns.
How many sessions are required?
Typically, three sessions are performed every 4-6 weeks, although some lesions may require more. Gradual improvements can be seen following the first treatment, with the skin’s surface looking clearer as treatments progress. Larger, deeper veins typically require more treatments and longer time intervals between sessions. The growth of new blood vessels can be avoided if treatment intervals do not exceed 8-10 weeks. Touch up treatments may occasionally be needed.
How do I prepare before the treatment?
Avoid any tanning, sun exposure, or self-tanners in the area to be treated 3-4 weeks before treatment. Do not apply any topical irritant treatments or products 2-3 days before the procedure. Avoid anticoagulants (aspirin, nonsteroidals, herbal or pharmaceutical blood thinners) 7-10 days before treatment, if medically permitted. Skin should be clean and free of hair prior to start of treatment.
What is the recovery?
Vasculaze is a quick non-invasive procedure, only taking 10-15 minutes per treatment session. Patients can come into the office and leave within minutes, depending on how extensive the vein or vein network is. After each treatment session, avoid heavy activities that encourage increased blood, like heavy exercise. We may request that you wait a few days to a week before returning to your normal exercise routine depending on the area you had treated. Apply sunscreen to the area for 3-4 weeks following treatment and 3-4 weeks preceding the next session. Avoid direct sunlight on treated areas.
